The United Nations Organization has laid out strategies for implementation of pilot project aiming to enhance social enterprise in various areas across Grodno Oblast. BelTa News Agency reported the above news following a press conference involving Grofno Oblast Governor Vladimir Kravtsov and UN Resident Coordinator Sanaka Samarasinha. Samaka summarized the project as an initiative to cater for employment of the larger population, via the creation of small enterprises with social functions. He also detailed that the campaign will be primarily channeled towards helping the “vulnerable” groups, including refugees, disabled persons, together with victims of sex/human trafficking and domestic violence. The project will look to negate social franchise barriers experienced by the aforementioned group.
The region has already overseen implementation of various joint projects. Particularly, Grodno Oblast has been setting the trend in construction of energy effective houses, overseeing completion of numerous units in the capital as part of a UNDP project.
